Andrea Rojas basically berated him into pursuing an exclusive about the Super Friends as though it’s that easy to get in with a group of superheroes who are busy saving the day. They seem to negate each other, but if there’s anyone that can accomplish it, it’s Lena.Īnd the writers didn’t forget about William just yet.

I’d much rather the initiative come from Lena out of her own free will instead.Īt least it didn’t take her several years to confide in Kara and bring her up to speed. If she wants to be the hero that saves National City, she has to tap into her magical side. Unfortunately, after her talk with Vita, it doesn’t seem like she gets much of a say in it. She went through enough turmoil as a Luthor, so if she doesn’t want to embrace her magical powers, so be it. Lena was adamant about distancing herself from her family legacy, and that’s fair. If you’re best friend is an alien, the idea that witches exist isn’t entirely far-fetched. Sure, she’s a woman of science, but so much happens that can’t be explained scientifically.
I can’t really seem to understand why Lena is so opposed to accepting that magic exists when she’s surrounded by supernatural entities all day long. The biggest development may have been Lena’s confrontation with Vita, a Kryptonian witch. Otherwise, it was such a random plot tool. Maybe that’s the reason why Nyxly and Kara are linked psychically? Lahr harnessing lightning will come into play. It doesn’t really make sense, though, I’m not invested enough to care. Maybe if she’s less confident and courageous, she’ll be able to pass the test? Supergirl, however, kept failing her gauntlet, which took her back to the night she became Supergirl and saved Alex’s plane. Nyxly passed her gauntlet after becoming vulnerable and admitting to her brother that his betrayal hurt and destroyed her. We’ll never see J’onn that chipper ever again. When both Nyxly and Supergirl failed their gauntlet, residents of National City saw a surge in courage influencing their every move. It’s like when Harry Potter searched for the Horcruxes in order to destroy Voldemort. The whole search for the totems and the gauntlet is giving me Harry Potter vibes. While the Super squad simply wanted to gain control of the totems, Supergirl ended up cracking the one Nyxly got into her possession and forcing herself into a gauntlet. It has also made her power-hungry, hence the desire to pursue the totems.
Maybe Kara is referring to the fact that Nyxly is redeemable as all of her anger is fueled by pain and a desire for revenge?

Fingers-crossed they bring him back for the series finale!
Kara continues to underscore that Nyxly is unlike any other villain she’s faced before, but she’s the least exciting when compared to others such as Lex Luthor. To be quite honest, I’m not really digging this whole Supergirl versus Fifth Dimensional Imp storyline.
